Herzog recognized as one of Denver’s most influential female business leaders

Julie Herzog, founding partner of Fortis Law Partners and Full Velocity Consulting, was selected as a 2021 Outstanding Woman in Business honoree by the Denver Business Journal (DBJ). Each year, the DBJ honors women for their accomplishments within their businesses, industries, and the wider business community, as well as for their philanthropic efforts. In addition to leading Fortis’s corporate and securities practice and providing fractional C-suite consulting at Full Velocity, Herzog is a single mother of 13-year-old triplets, one of whom has significant disabilities and health challenges.

“I have firsthand experience with the personal and professional challenges that working moms and parents of disabled children face,” Herzog said. “That’s why I’m so dedicated to advocating for women and championing the inclusion of disabled people in all aspects of life. At Fortis and Full Velocity, we have created a flexible, family-friendly work environment because we firmly believe that work/life balance gives our team the space and support they need to be their best at the office and home.”

Herzog is one of 36 Outstanding Women in Business winners chosen out of more than 250 nominations. As COVID-19 spread around the globe, she demonstrated remarkable leadership during a time of tremendous hardship for many of her clients who were facing severe business obstacles. Herzog worked diligently to help her clients survive the pandemic, even facilitating mergers and acquisitions at a time when M&A activity had come to a screeching halt. “I couldn’t do any of this without the help of my family, colleagues and friends,” Herzog continued. “I am so grateful for their support.”

Herzog handles a wide variety of corporate, securities and merger and acquisition transactions in her role at Fortis Law Partners. She has negotiated and closed hundreds of transactions valued at more than $2 billion and enjoys working with a diverse clientele ranging from Fortune 100 corporations to startups, family offices, and venture capital and private equity funds. A successful and passionate entrepreneur herself, Herzog takes pride in providing sound and practical business counsel to her clients.

The DBJ 2021 Oustanding Women in Business winners will be honored at a virtual event on Thursday, August 19, accessible via the Denver Business Journal website and in a special section of the print and online editions released on Friday, August 20.
